Description:
This plastic 1965 Mustang Coupe is part of an Esso brand
"refueling station" toy. When the "gas
nozzle" is pressed into the "gas inlet"
on top of the rear trunk, it pushes a spring-loaded
metal rod through the bottom of the car that presses
a power button which activates a battery-powered motor.
The motor spins two rollers under the rear wheels of
the car. Once the wheels are up to speed, you release
the car and off it goes. The friction-powered motor
in the car helps maximize the distance the car travels.
