Toymaker: Taiyo

Formally known as Taiyo Kogyo Corporation (Japan), Taiyo was one of the most prolific makers of tin toy cars in the 1960s and 1970s. Their cars are primarily known today for their "Non-Fall Mystery Bump'n Go" feature which used a clever lever and revolving fifth wheel under the car to prevent it from driving off a table top and would allow it to back up and head in a different direction after hitting an obstacle. Taiyo tin toy Mustangs are among the easiest tin toy Mustangs to find on the market due to the huge numbers and wide variety that were produced. Even so, they remain very collectible and sought after.
